Sagarmatha Next strives to promote sustainable tourism in the Khumbu region of Nepal and aim to change the perception around waste by creating awareness among the locals and visitors and demonstrating that if treated properly, waste has a value. Sagarmatha Next has three components - The Centre, Waste Management Plan and Carry Me Back - a crowdsourced waste removal system where everyone can be part of the solution.

Tommy a longtime mountain lover, climber & hiker with a professional background as a CEO of international companies within the sports marketing business as well as the travel industry for more than 25 years, has since 2015 been living in Namche Bazaar in the upper Khumbu region acting as Project Director for the creation of the Sagarmatha Next Center.
